Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary Offers Summer Day Camp for Kids

KA_Wellfleet Marsh Sky_042516_002WELLFLEET – Summer days can be spent on Cape Cod in a variety of ways – and if you’re a kid, the area seems like a giant playground, full of sandy shores to explore and cool waters to flop around in.

Something we know kids love is the Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary’s Natural History Summer Day Camp in Wellfleet and Chatham.

At both locations, campers make friends through hands-on outdoor exploration, noncompetitive games, and creative arts and crafts.

But mostly, the experience focuses on the natural beauty which surrounds both grounds.

In Wellfleet, campers trek through the 937 acres of marsh, woodlands and coastline. Older campers go off-site for whale watching, snorkeling and kayaking.

Over in Chatham, themed weekly sessions have campers aged 4-13 explore trails, discover tidal flats, catch frogs and experiment with science.

To register your child for either of the camps, check out Mass Audubon’s website at massaudubon.org.
