WELLFLEET – The Wellfleet select board voted unanimously last week to approve the “friendly” taking of a parcel of tidal flats off Indian Neck.
The 150-acre parcel, owned by the HDYLTA Realty Trust, was recently appraised at nearly 2.5 million by Shepard Associates, LLC.
Town meeting approved the purchase of the property for $2 million in April.
The board anticipates the closing will happen soon.
The flats have been used by aquaculture farmers and shellfish harvesters.
