Wildlife Sanctuary to Celebrate 10 Years of ‘Wild, Wild Wellfleet!’

WELLFLEET – Mass Audubon’s Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary is celebrating ten years of “Wild, Wild Wellfleet!” this summer.

Sanctuary officials are reminding the public to mark their calendars for the special event on July 18.

The event brings together over 200 supporters and friends of Wellfleet Bay Wildlife Sanctuary to enjoy food and drinks by some of the best chefs and beverage purveyors on the Outer Cape.

“Wild, Wild Wellfleet!” will also include live music and a live auction under a tent on the grounds of the sanctuary.

The event supports the organization’s in-school and citizen science programs, along with ecological management efforts.

Since its inception in 2009, the fundraiser has enabled the organization to more than double the size of its school program, helped provide 80 week-long day camp scholarships to local children, and supported the operation of the world’s largest annual cold-stunned endangered sea turtle rescue and recovery program.

Wellfleet Bay will release soon release more information about the event.
