YARMOUTH – Golf fees could soon be on the rise at the town of Yarmouth’s courses.
Under a proposal from town golf officials, residents pay an additional $26 per year, while non-residents would pay an extra $30 starting in 2016.
“What we really need at the golf course is additional maintenance,” said Yarmouth Golf Director Jim Armentrout. “The idea of increasing fees is dedicated to improving the product.”
Selectmen will consider the fee increase proposal on Tuesday.
The proposal comes as a series of improvements are planned for the both the Bayberry Hills and Bass River courses. The plan calls for green, bunker, and overall improvements. The renovations will be funded by $2 million in borrowed money in fiscal 2018 and $2.5 million in fiscal 2021.
