EASTHAM – Eastham Police report that on Thursday at 10:55 PM, Sergeant Joshua Adams was on patrol and came upon a horse that had been struck by a motor vehicle in the area of 1875 Herring Brook Road. The vehicle involved in the crash with the horse was a 2001 Toyota Tacoma, and the operator remained on scene to assist. Eastham Officers on scene made contact with the local owner of the horse and a veterinarian. Per instructions of both the owner and the veterinarian, euthanization was deemed necessary, and was in accordance with Eastham Police Department Policies and Procedures. The investigation into this unfortunate incident is continuing by the Eastham Police.
