EASTHAM – Firefighters are on the scene of a well involved cottage type structure in Eastham. The fire was reported on Bonaya Road off McKoy Rd about 10:45 AM Tuesday. There were no immediate reports of injuries. Mutual aid from surrounding towns also responded. The State Fire Marshal is investigation the cause of the fire.
Update: Eastham Fire reports that at approximately 10:30 AM a 911 caller stated that their neighbors house on Bonaya Rd. was on fire. Two engines from Eastham and mutual aid from Orleans Fire-Rescue, Wellfleet Fire Department, Harwich Fire Department and Brewster Fire Department helped control the fire, while Chatham Fire Department covered the Eastham Station.
The home was unoccupied at the time. It is considered a complete loss. The Massachusetts State Police Department of Fire Services are aiding in the investigation of the cause.
