Thanks to a special donation from Sam Diego’s and Sports Authority, a team of uniformed police officers from Barnstable, Bourne, Chatham, Dennis, Eastham, Harwich, Falmouth, Mashpee, Provincetown, Truro, Wellfleet and Yarmouth brought a group of 35 deserving Cape Cod youths out to lunch at approximately noon at Sam Diego’s on Route 132 in Hyannis and then shopping at the Sports Authority store located on Route 132 in Hyannis around 2:00 p.m.

Each deserving student received $150 to spend on Christmas items for their families. Sam Diego’s provided the complete lunch for all of the students and police officers at no cost and Sport’s Authority gave each student an additional 25% discount for all items purchased.

This innovative annual Community Policing program is funded entirely by donations from the public. Thanks to all of the previous year’s donations no additional funds were needed this year.
