Child safe after getting carried out in tide in Falmouth

FALMOUTH – Falmouth Fire Rescue was called to Nuys Beach off Dowse’s Way around 1 PM after a report of a child getting carried out in the tide. Fearing the worst, the dive team was activated. Fortunately nearby boats and kayakers were able to reach the child and bring them in uninjured to a nearby dock.

Meanwhile in Sandwich, rescuers sprang into action after reports of two boys on a board having trouble getting back to shore off Carlton Shores Beach. Upon further investigation it was determined an inflatable had gotten away from some beachgoers prompting the good intent call.

Forecasters are warning of an enhanced risk of tip currents especially along the outer Cape ocean beaches this week as tropical storm Chris passes up the coast off shore.
