Deadline approaching for Mashpee police officer applications

MASHPEE –  The deadline to get on an eligibility list for future employment as a Mashpee police officer is approaching.

The department is seeking certified full-time police academy trained police officers to establish a supplemental eligibility list to fill up to three full-time police officer positions.

Applications need to be received by 4:00 pm on Friday, January 6, 2017.

In-state Massachusetts police full-time academy graduates or out of state police officers who hold certifications accepted by the Massachusetts Municipal Police Training Committee are eligible to apply.

Candidates will be required to successfully complete an oral board interview, physical agility examination, appointing authority interview, medical examination, psychological examination and comprehensive background investigation.

Minimum requirements: U.S. citizen, high school diploma or GED, minimum of age twenty-one (21) at the time of appointment , valid driver’s license, no felony convictions and a person of unquestionable character and integrity that can hold a position of public trust.

All candidates must successfully serve a minimum of a one (1) year probationary period. Interested candidates should submit a Town of Mashpee application and letter of intent to: Human Resources Director Kimberly Landry, Mashpee Town Hall, 16 Great Neck Road North, Mashpee, MA 02649.
