YARMOUTH – Three people escaped a fire unharmed Monday morning that heavily damaged a condominium unit in Yarmouth.
The flames broke out in building 11 at Buck Island Village on Buck Island Road shortly after midnight.
Yarmouth firefighters were able to put out the flames before they spread to adjoining units. Mutual aid responded from the Hyannis and CO-MM fire departments.
The cause was unknown Monday afternoon, but investigators were combing through some of the charred rubble looking for clues.
The family that lived in the unit was getting temporary housing assistance from the Red Cross.
