New details: Man injured in industrial accident in Dennis

DENNIS – A man reportedly suffered a crushing injury to his hand at the Cape Cod Ready Mix plant on Great Western Road sometime after 2:30 PM Monday afternoon. Rescuers took the victim to a waiting MedFlight helicopter at Barnstable Municipal Airport for transport to a trauma center. It was not immedilately clear how the incident occurred.

Statement from Dennis Fire: An employee of Cape Cod Ready Mix on Great Western Road was airlifted to Brigham & Women’s Hospital in Boston, after his hand became entrapped in a piece of machinery he was working on.

At 2:20 PM, Dennis Fire and Police responded to the incident. Upon arrival it was reported that the man was able to free his hand. Dennis rescue personnel found the victim laying down on the floor. He was stabilized at the scene and transported to Barnstable Municipal Airport with non-life-threatening trauma related injuries.
