Oak Bluffs officials rescue 2 swimmers on float

Oak Bluffs Police/CWN

OAK BLUFFS
From Oak Bluffs Police: The police/fire patrol deployed Saturday evening at about 8:00 PM for a report of two swimmers who were stranded on a water float and drifting out to sea in Nantucket Sound in the area of Ocean Park. The boat crew successfully located the swimmers approximately a 1/2 mile from shore hanging on to the pictured float. The float had lost some air and neither party was wearing a life jacket. The parties were uninjured and safely transported back to shore.

We are very thankful for this outcome and want to remind everyone to be very cautious while swimming, and be aware of the winds and currents.
