EDGARTOWN – On Monday at 5:30 PM, Edgartown Police and Fire/Rescue personnel were dispatched to a two-car motor vehicle accident on Edgartown-Vineyard Haven road, in the area of Pilgrim road.
On arrival Officers observed that one vehicle had rear-ended the other causing significant damage to both vehicles. The vehicle drivers were the sole occupants of both vehicles.
Both drivers were transported via ambulance to the hospital to be evaluated. The operator of the vehicle that caused the accident was arrested for operating under the influence of liquor and negligent operation upon her release from the hospital.
