SANDWICH – The Sandwich Police Department is investigating a motor vehicle crash into a pond located at the intersection of Open Space Drive and Reflection Drive in the Ridge Club.
Police said they learned in the early hours Monday that the operator, a 25 year old female from Sandwich, had left the scene and was picked up by family members.
The woman was suffering from hypothermia and was transported to the hospital by the Sandwich Fire Department.
No other passengers are believed to have been in the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Sandwich Fire and salvage teams were recovering the vehicle late Monday morning. This incident remains under investigation.
