YARMOUTH – At about 2:45 Saturday afternoon the Yarmouth Fire responded to a report of a kayaker in distress at Gray’s Beach. A group of 8 in their kayaks left shore near Brays Farm in Yarmouthport. As they approached Gray’s Beach the outgoing tide became strong and the group stopped near the beach. One woman was not able to stop because the tide and was pulled out past the end of the boardwalk. Firefighters responded in a small boat and assisted her back to shore. The kayaker was not injured, just very tired.
