Yarmouth Police gear up for 5th Annual Back-to-School Shop With a Cop Program

YARMOUTH – The Yarmouth Police Department will be hosting the 5th annual Cape Cod and the Islands Back-to-School Shop with a Cop Program on August 16 and is looking for the public to make a donation.

Monetary donations can be made in cash or by check made out to the Yarmouth Police Relief Association and either dropped off or mailed to Yarmouth Police Department Headquarters.

Students are selected from towns all around Cape Cod to take them shopping for back-to-school clothing.  Additionally, the officers provide each student with a back pack filled with school supplies.

Students not only get the supplies they need, but also have the opportunity to spend the day with police officers.

Their goal is to build trust and strong community partnerships between students, their families, and police officers and empower students to succeed in school, develop good decision-making skills, and stand up to bullying.

If you know a student who needs a backpack and/or school supplies and is not already part of this program, please contact Officer Diana Wells at the Yarmouth Police Department at [email protected] or at 508.775.0445 extension 2362
