YPD reports neighborhood crime watch seeks captains in West Yarmouth

YARMOUTH – Yarmouth Neighborhood Crime Watch (www.yncw.org) is an outreach program of the Yarmouth Police Department.

Our Neighborhood Crime Watch is the largest active system located anywhere in Massachusetts.

NCW works and is one way to help YPD keep crime down and achieve the goal of making Yarmouth the safest community in the region.

They have a need for two Area Captains for West Yarmouth.

This is an important role to help manage the program. This only involves a few hours a month and is a great way to become more involved in our community and meet many people in town.

The program only works due to our dedicated volunteers.

Below are some of the duties of the position:

  • Distribute NCW information to block captains in the area
  • Assist block captains in setting up meetings, getting forms, etc
  • Holding periodic meetings with the block captains
  • Recruiting and training new block captains
  • Participate in monthly NCW meetings to manage the program
