BUZZARDS BAY – Cape Cod Cares for the Troops will be holding their 11th annual Canal Run for the Troops early next month.
The event will be held on October 5 at the Buzzards Bay Recreation Area.
Registration for the 5K and 10K begins at 8:30 AM with a 10 AM start. Registration is $25 in advance and $30 the day of the event.
The money raised at the event will be used to pay the postage for 1,200 care packages being sent to deployed troops. The expected cost for postage is $30,000.
Cape Cod Cares for the Troops was created in 2005 by then-12 year old Dylan DeSilva and his mother, Michelle.
