4Cs to hold Free Dental Sealant Clinic for Children

KA_Cape Cod Community College_CCCC_Winter_Sunny_012116_009WEST BARNSTABLE – A free clinic will be held tomorrow to provide children with dental sealants at Cape Cod Community College.

The clinic will be held at the college’s Wilkens Family Dental Hygiene Clinic and patients must be between the ages of 6 and 18.

Sealants create a barrier over teeth to protect them from disease-causing bacteria and can reduce cavities by more than 60 percent.

Appointments are required and can be made by calling the clinic at 774-330-4371.

The appointment times are 4, 5 and 6 p.m.

The treatment is provided by Cape Cod Community College Dental Hygiene program students, who are supervised by licensed dental hygienists and dentists.

Patients will first be screened by a licensed dentist to determine the need for sealants.

To make an appointment call the clinic at 774-330-4371.

Future sealant clinics will be held November 3 and December 1.
