Beekeeping For Beginners Coming To Museum Of Natural History

BREWSTER – Anyone thinking about becoming a beekeeper will want to keep Tuesday evenings in February open from 6:00-8:00pm.

The Cape Cod Museum of Natural History will be holding a Beekeeping for Beginners course.

Those who simply want to learn more about the insects that provide us with honey as well as many fruits and vegetables are also welcome.

The course will cover the biology of the honeybee, beekeeping tasks throughout the seasons and how to harvest the honey.  The museum has four outdoor hives which will provide hands-on learning about assembling the hardware, starting a new hive and much more.

The results of recent research will also be discussed.

The cost is $65 which includes all instruction and handouts.  People who volunteer with four summer hive openings will receive a $25 rebate.

For more information and registration call (508) 896-3867.  Space is limited.
