Brewster Forum to Focus on Financial Future

BREWSTER – The Brewster Community Network will host a forum next week focusing on the town’s financial future.

The session on Thursday at 7 p.m. at the Brewster Ladies’ Library will address the latest developments relating to the town’s financial situation – most notably – potential budget impacts associated with renovating Nauset Regional High School.

Town Administrator Peter Lombardi will open the forum with a big-picture presentation about where the town is financially, where it is headed under certain assumptions, potential implications for taxpayers, and decision processes and public engagement opportunities moving forward.

The presentation will be followed by a panel discussion focusing on the forces shaping the town’s present and future operational and capital budgets, and on potential approaches for handling upcoming challenges while pursuing the Brewster Vision Plan.

Representatives of the select board and finance committee have been invited to join Lombardi on the panel.

Confirmed panelists include Greg Lavasseur, former select board and finance committee member and current chair of the Building Committee for the Nauset Regional School Committee.
