Cape and Islands United Way Announces Annual Nonprofit Partners

HYANNIS–The Cape and Islands United Way awarded close to $500,000 to 32 organizations on May 14 at a reception held in Hyannis.

The organizations included aid area residents with education, financial stability, housing, and health.

President and CEO Mark Skala stressed the importance of funding these community efforts.

“It’s really what the Cape and Islands United Way is all about,” Skala explained.

“It’s convening and collaborating with nonprofit organizations, so that we can address the needs that we see in our community.”

The United Way also presented four awards to community members, and recognized many volunteers and donors for their support.

“The volunteers are a critical piece of what we do, and they’re really driving us, helping us to drive critical opportunities here on the Cape,” Skala said.
