Cape Cod Five Announces $46K in Hurricane Relief Contributions

ORLEANS – The Cape Cod Five Cents Savings Bank has announced that the company has contributed more than $46,000 to hurricane disaster relief efforts while encouraging their employees to do the same.

The community bank has pledged five thousand dollars to a relief fund established by the Texas Bankers Association to provide relief to those displaced by the catastrophic effects of Hurricane Harvey in Texas, following suit with the disasters wreaked in Florida and Puerto Rico by Hurricanes Irma and Maria.

In addition, Cape Cod Five has matched employee contributions to the disaster up to an additional five thousand dollars.

Bank President and CEO Dorothy Savarese said that it is important for people, and business to help out when disaster strikes,

“I am overwhelmed by the heartfelt generosity of our employees who, in the wake of these disasters, went above and beyond to support the relief efforts in these communities,” said Savarese,

“In times like this, we are reminded of the importance of supporting our communities, both near and far, which was demonstrated by the outpouring of compassion, support and assistance from across the country to help those affected begin to recover.”
