Cape Cod Museum of Art to Present ‘Drumma Queens’ as Part of ARTfull Thursdays

DENNIS – The Cape Cod Museum of Art is inviting area residents to ARTfull Thursdays during February school vacation week.

This week, the Drumma Queens will create an upbeat experience for the whole family at the Cape Cod Museum of Art. The Drumma Queens celebrate life with the joyful drumming, song and dance of West African rhythms. The Drumma Queens are known for their fun, laughter, and dramatic performance style.

Led by Sue Landers, this group of women came together through Cape Cod African Dance and Drum classes and continues to share their experience of drumming as a force for healing and inspiration.

The program is open for people of all ages. Admission is just $10 for museum members while nonmembers pay $12. Attendees can bring one child to the event for free.

Drumma Queens will be held at the Cape Cod Museum of Art on February 21 from 4:00 p.m. through 6:00 p.m. The museum is located at 60 Hope Lane in Dennis, just off of Route 6A.

Founded by artists in 1981, the museum preserves 2000 works of the Cape’s finest artists and celebrates the distinctive artistic identity of the Cape & Islands region.
