Cape Cod Young Professionals Hosts 13th Annual Community Breakfast Last Month

WEST YARMOUTH –Cape Cod Young Professionals (CCYP) hosted its 13th Annual Community Breakfast event at the Wequassett Resort & Golf Club in Harwich last month.

Artistic Director & Conductor for the Cape Symphony, Jung-Ho Pak, served as the special guest speaker of the event.

Jung-Ho’s speech “How to Change the World” Connecting with Everyone” reflected one of CCYP’s key pillars – connection – and its importance to our community, and left event attendees inspired to consider why they do what they do.

Jung-Ho spoke on how connection is crucial in all aspects of life and emphasized to attendees that passion is key in finding your purpose in our ever-changing world.

For the first time ever, CCYP named “Outstanding Volunteers” for the year through a series of special awards during the Community Breakfast. All recipients showed a willingness to go above and beyond in their volunteer roles throughout the year, and dedicated significant time toward furthering the goals of CCYP, its programs, and events.

The 13th Annual Community Breakfast also featured recognition of CCYP’s 2018 Career Connect Scholarship recipient, Kelly Medeiros, who received a $2,500 scholarship to further her education in environmental science and management, and advance her career on Cape Cod with the National Seashore.

Additionally, CCYP announced the organization’s 2018 Giving Circle Grant recipients. CCYP’s Giving Circle Grant Program makes use of donations received through its collective giving program, the Giving Circle, to support creative projects and programs that improve quality of life and career opportunity for young workers on Cape Cod.

This year, CCYP, in partnership with the Cape Cod Foundation, awarded $10,000 to six organizations Cape Cod nonprofits for projects focused on housing and childcare.

Cape Cod Young Professionals is a nonprofit that works to connect, engage, and advance Cape Cod’s young workforce and future leaders –The Community Breakfast was presented with generous sponsorship support from Cape Cod Five.
