BARNSTABLE – A group of Cape youngsters will be heading to Boston on Tuesday.

The Cape Youth Orchestra will be performing in the rotunda of the Massachusetts State House.

The performance which will be open to the public will be held at noon.

State Senator Dan Wolf, who invited the orchestra to play, will introduce their performance.

The orchestra is comprised of about 35 of the Cape’s most advanced and dedicated young musicians.

The Cape Youth Orchestra, which was created in 2011 and is a program of the Cape Conservatory, is quickly becoming one of the preeminent youth orchestras in southeastern Massachusetts.

Members of the ensemble are taught by some of the region’s top instructors including conductor Chris Schroeder, and very recently, violinist Lindsay Deutsch.

In a partnership with the Cape Symphony, the musicians also work with conductor Jung-Ho Pak and the more than 70 professional musicians that make up the symphony.
