YARMOUTH – Capital spending in Yarmouth for Fiscal Year 2018 could be as much as $3.65 million.
The Capital Budget Committee presented its recommendations to Selectmen earlier this month which included $1.5 million in routine capital, according to committee member Sandy Fife.
“The last several years $1.5 million has been approved from the tax levy,” Fife said.
Much of the routine capital spending would go towards new police cruisers and parks and recreation vehicles.
Other recommendations include $1.2 million for road maintenance and almost a half million for a new ambulance for the fire department.
The committee is also recommending $262,000 in funding for new sidewalks and $200,000 for storm water maintenance.
The committee is expected to present a new vehicle replacement policy to selectmen before the next budget cycle.
