EASTHAM – The Community Development Partnership (CDP) and the Cape Cod Commission are hosting a listening session for the Massachusetts Rural Policy Advisory Commission (RPAC) Wednesday afternoon.

The listening session is part of a series of similar events being held throughout the Commonwealth to inform the Commission’s development of a Rural Policy Plan for Massachusetts.

The goal is to gather input from community leaders regarding the suggested focus areas to be included in the development of the Massachusetts Rural Policy Plan.

“The ultimate goal is to really just to address the very particular needs of rural communities,” said CDP Chief Development Officer Britt Beedenbender.

The session is open to the general public; local elected and appointed officials and business and community leaders are encouraged to attend and participate.

Registration is encouraged through the CDP’s website.

“What is important about the Rural Policy Commission and why they’re doing the state-wide tour is that depending on where you go in the state, the issues are very different,” said Beedenbender.

The event will be held from 4-6pm at the Eastham Public Library.
