CHATHAM – The Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen’s Alliance is inviting the public out to “Meet the Fleet” Wednesday night.
The group holds similar events throughout the year that allows the public to meet the fishermen that support the local economy.
Much of the discussion at this event will focus on the recent approval of the Omnibus Essential Fish Habitat Amendment 2. The law brings New England fisheries in compliance with the federal Magnuson-Stevens act, a move the Cape Cod Commercial Fishermen’s Alliance supported.
A chef from the Chatham Bars Inn will also be on hand to offer a series of cooking tips and fish-based recipes to attendees.
Meet the Fleet is scheduled from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Fishermen’s Alliance building on Main Street in Chatham.
The event is free and open to the public, but the organization asks that you RSVP to [email protected] as seating is limited.
Donations are encouraged.
