Community Health Center to Host Annual Golf Tourney Monday

POCASSET – A major fundraiser for the Community Health Center of Cape Cod will be held Monday in Pocasset.

The organization’s 19th Annual Golf Tournament will be held at the Pocasset Golf Club.

Proceeds benefit the health center which operates locations in Mashpee, Falmouth, Bourne, and Centerville and provides primary and preventive care, behavioral health, women’s health, dental care, optometry, pharmacy, and coordinated case management.

Chris Ellis with the Health Center says the tournament is great way to raise money for the organization.

“The guys and women who come out and participate really enjoy the event,” Ellis said.

The event includes registration and lunch beginning at 10 a.m. A shotgun start for 18 holes of golf at 11 a.m. A dinner with awards and auction items will follow at 4:30 p.m.

The 2018 edition of the tournament raised more than $68,000 – the most in the event’s history. It also featured 112 golfers, which was the highest number since 2007.

“We are looking forward to this year as well. We already have over 100 golfers registered and we have raised over $50,000,” Ellis said. “We are looking to do even a little bit more than that from some preregistrations and from some day of event stuff.”

Live and silent auction items include rounds of golf at Pocasset and Golf Club, the Cape Club, Hyannisport Club, Willowbend, Wianno, The Ridge Club, Woods Hole Golf Club, and Captain’s Golf Course; a two-night stay at the Chatham Wayside Inn; wine; airfare for two between Hyannis and Nantucket; and more.
