DeMacedo Appointed to Budget Committee

DeMacedo01PLYMOUTH – Massachusetts House Minority Leader Bradley Jones appointed Rep. Vinny deMacedo (R-Plymouth) to the conference committee in charge of sorting out the differences between the budgets passed by the House and the Senate for the Fiscal Year 2015.

“I’m appreciative of the opportunity that Minority Leader Brad Jones has given me to be the voice of the House Republican Caucus,” said deMacedo. “My hope is that we will be able to come out with a fiscally responsible budget that represents an increased level of commitment to Massachusetts taxpayers and communities.”

The House approved a $36.32 billion budget in April.

An amendment, offered by deMacedo, to fund a drug treatment and prevention program for teenagers on the South Shore and Upper Cape was included in the budget passed by the House.

The Senate completed its version of the budget last week.

The state spending plan is set to go into effect July 1.

First elected to the Massachusetts House of Representatives in 1999, deMacedo serves the First Plymouth District.
