Dennis Contractors Sentenced for Scamming Senior

DENNIS – Two contractors were sentenced to two years in prison yesterday after they pled guilty to scamming an 87-year-old Dennis woman.

William Woods, 53, of Sandwich and his son William Woods Jr, 28, of Harwich, conned the woman out of about $20,000.

The duo were paid for home improvement projects that were never completed or incorrectly performed.

Authorities became aware of the scam after the victim’s daughter contacted police.
