Dennis Selectmen to Review Club’s Liquor License

gavelDENNIS PORT – A recent string of rowdiness at a Dennis Port nightclub has Dennis selectmen looking at possible sanctions.

A hearing will be held to review the Improper Bostonian’s liquor license after a Labor Day celebration at the club got out of hand.

“We did have a couple of fights there that we had to break up and some people did get arrested,” said Dennis Police Chief Michael Whalen, “I think we all know how people can get sometimes when they have too much to drink. They get a little more rambunctious than they do when they’re thinking a little straighter.

Whalen said they had to devote additional resources to monitor the bar this season. “We had to keep some officers down there at some points just to monitor and make sure everybody got in and out of the place safely…that’s not something the police department should be having to do.”

Selectmen will review their options at the hearing on October 9th. They could choose to place restrictions on the club, or even revoke their liquor license all together.
