FALMOUTH – A Westport man who crashed a gasoline tanker in the Bourne rotary in March was arraigned Thursday in Falmouth District Court.

Thomas Medeiros, 47, is charged with negligent operation of a motor vehicle, operating at a speed greater than reasonable and proper, and failure to stay within marked lanes. He pleaded not guilty.

The truck dumped 5,000 gallons of fuel into the rotary and shut down traffic in the area for several hours. The cleanup took a couple of weeks to complete.

No other vehicles were involved and Medeiros was not seriously hurt.

He will return to Falmouth District Court for a pre-trial conference on June 25.
