Eversource Announces Donation to Support Texas Relief Efforts

BOSTON – Eversource Energy has announced a $50,000 donation to help relief efforts in the wake of Hurricane Harvey.

The money comes from the Eversource Foundation and will go to the American Red Cross. In addition to the donation, the company has partnered with their unions in Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Connecticut to establish a website where customers, employees, and contractors can make their own individual donations.

The dedicated website will soon be active. In the meantime, Eversource officials urge those interested in donating to visit RedCross.org.

The company says they are ready to send crews and resources to Texas to assist with restoration efforts if they are called upon.

“We have all been moved by the powerful images of the devastation caused by Harvey in Texas,” said Jim Judge, the President, CEO, and Chairman of Eversource. “Having seen our share of Mother Nature’s destructive force over the years, we know how important it is to pitch in and help others. We’re also in constant communication with our sister utilities across the country and stand prepared to send additional crews when they might be needed.”

Eversource provides electricity to Cape Cod and Martha’s Vineyard.
