FALMOUTH – The Falmouth Theatre Guild is presenting the beloved holiday classic by Charles Dickens, “A Christmas Carol”, until December 20 at Highfield Theater in Falmouth.

The Dickens tale of Christmas is adapted for the stage by Richard Hellesen.

It includes original music with lyrics written or adapted from original traditional sources by David De Berry.

The elaborate production is directed by Mark Licalsi of East Falmouth, music direction by Laura Cervinsky of Boston and choreography by Anne Edgar.

The show’s producer Katy Paul, said this version of “A Christmas Carol” is unique in the way original carols are incorporated into the story.

She also said that in this version of the story, audiences will strongly feel Scrooge’s transformation as he discovers the true meaning of Christmas.

Peter Cook of Falmouth plays Ebenezer Scrooge.

Paul said that for the theatre guild, this is “an all hands on deck” major production.

The guild typically puts on a smaller show that runs two weekends in December.

The show runs for three weekends, Fridays at 7:30 p.m. and Saturdays and Sundays at 4 p.m.

Tickets are $20 for adults, $18 for seniors and $16 for children and can be purchased online at falmouththeatreguild.org.
