HARWICH – Harwich town officials have chosen Charleen Greenhalgh as the new assistant town administrator.

The former assistant town planner fills the vacancy that was left when Julie Quintero-Shulz resigned.

For the past nine years, Greenhalgh served as the town of Truro’s town planner/assistant town administrator and was also acting town administrator.

Greenhalgh served as Harwich’s assistant town planner from 2000 to 2006.

“I think Charleen will be succesfful coming back, so not only having someone familiar, but someone familiar with the organization is really a great opportunity,” said Town Administrator Christopher Clark.

Greenhalgh was previously the assistant town planner and acting director of planning and community development in Chatham for six years and town planner and grant writer in Dennis for seven years before starting in Harwich in 2000.

Selectmen this month confirmed the appointment of Greenhalgh to the position and she began her first day on the job last week.

“There’s probably no one happier to have her coming on board than myself,” said Clark. “I do think it’s a great opportunity to have somebody that has the kind of experience that Charleen has to bring onto the team.”
