Harwich Conservation Trust Seeking Volunteers for Trail Trimming

HARWICH – New plant growth needs to be trimmed from walking trails and the Harwich Conservation Trust is seeking volunteers for work at Bell’s Neck Conservation Lands this week.

AmeriCorps Cape Cod member Ben Cockrell will lead the trail clearing effort from 9 to 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 25. To register, email [email protected].

Gloves and other hand tools will be provided, but volunteers and encouraged to bring their own gloves and tools.

No experience with trail maintenance is necessary, but volunteers should be prepared with water, and for potential exposure to biting insects and poison ivy.

Depending on maintenance needs, the group may cover up to 2 miles of trail during the work session.

Volunteer requests will be confirmed by an email that will include directions. Event registration is limited due to limited parking.
