HyArts Reception to Focus on Art Collection Exhibit

Hy ArtsHYANNIS – The Hyannis HyArts campus-wide fall celebration will kick off with an opening reception this weekend at the Guyer Barn on South Street.

The reception will be for a special exhibit, Inside Out: A Look at the Art Collection of Jeanne and Richard Neal.

Richard Neal is a carpenter, painter and sculptor working at Chalkboard Studio in Barnstable Village and Jeanne Norris-Neal is a licensed social worker and an aficionado of art, music and literature.

The upcoming exhibit will give visitors a glimpse at a selection from the Neals’ private art collection along with examining how a collection is formed and the different ways art can be acquired.

The reception will be held Saturday, October 10, from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Guyer Barn and the public is invited to meet the Neals as well as visit the other galleries and studios on campus.

The Neals will also be on hand Sunday, October 18, at 1 p.m. to talk about how they built the collection and what it means to them.
