Cape Abilities Announces New President and CEO

 

HYANNIS – The Cape Abilities Board of Directors has announced the hiring of its newest president and CEO.

Jonathan Sproul has been hired to lead Cape Abilities, replacing Larry Thayer, who has been acting as the interim President and CEO.

“We are excited to have Jon join our team”, said Marion Broidrick, Chairman of the Cape Abilities Board of Directors. ”

As a native Cape Codder who graduated from Barnstable High School, Jon has first-hand knowledge of the Cape community and brings extensive experience in programs, fundraising and strategic management to Cape Abilities.”

Sproul, comes to Cape Abilities from the Boston Public Schools where he was the Director of School-Community Partnerships.

He has a Bachelor’s Degree from Columbia University and a Master’s Degree from Harvard University. His experience in strategic planning and management as well as Development will provide Cape Abilities with the leadership needed to continue their commitment to providing high quality, community-based services for people with disabilities.

Jonathan, his wife and three children currently live in Charlestown. He is expected to start his new position as President and CEO of Cape Abilities on December 4.

Cape Abilities is a nonprofit organization that has been serving individuals with disabilities on Cape Cod for 50 years by educating, counseling and providing residential, therapeutic, social and employment supports that empower them to achieve meaningful and valued roles in the community.
