Mass Audubon Holds ‘Picture This’ Photo Contest

MASSACHUSETTS-  The Mass Audubon’s annual statewide photo contest is underway now for those who enjoy photography, and the great outdoors.

‘Picture This’ which runs through September 30th allows for novice to avid photographers the chance to take photos of anything from woodland paths to shining shorelines, songbirds and bunnies in the backyard, and even family members exploring a flower garden.

This contest is aimed at letting the public truly connect with nature and capture the natural beauty of their local landscape.

Photo contest participants may compete in one of two age categories, 18 and Older and Under 18. Subject areas include: people in nature, birds, mammals, other animals, landscapes, and plants and fungi.

Each contestant may enter a maximum of 10 photographs, which must be taken in Massachusetts or at Wildwood, Mass Audubon’s overnight camp in Rindge, NH.

Images can have been taken at any time prior to or during the contest, but all entries, regardless of original format, must be submitted online.

One grand prize winner will be awarded a $250 gift card to be redeemed at Mass Audubon shops, or wildlife sanctuaries. In addition, the first-prize photographer will be featured in the Audubon’s newsletter. Other prizes will be allotted to runner-ups.
