Massachusetts Gas Prices Back Up 2 Cents Heading Into Holiday Weekend

HYANNIS – Gas prices in the Bay State are back up 2 cents over the past week.

AAA Northeast reports that the average price of self-serve, regular unleaded is selling for $2.84 per gallon in Massachusetts.

That price is one cent higher than the national average and 58 cents higher than the same time last year.

“With Labor Day approaching, motorists could see a small swing towards higher gas prices, but any jump may not last much past the holiday weekend,” said Mary Maguire, Director of Public and Legislative Affairs for AAA Northeast.

According to GasBuddy.com, prices on Cape Cod are between $2.71 and $3.19.
