Native Nightlife Walk Coming to Cape Cod National Seashore

EASTHAM – A Native Nightlife Walk on the Cape Cod National Seashore is coming to Eastham this month.  

The 1.5 mile walk is being led by 12th generation Cape Codder Todd Kelly and native Wampanoag/Nipmuc Marcus Hendricks and will allow participants to explore the cultural history and natural nightlife of Cape Cod.

People who attend the event will learn about the lifeways of both Native Americans and old Cape Codders in relation to wildlife behaviors, the ephemeral rhythms of moon phases, why stories were told at night, and how cultural knowledge and wisdom were preserved and passed on to younger generations.

The event is sponsored by Harwich Conservation Trust and Eastham Conservation Foundation and will take place June 17th from six to eight p.m., the cost is $20 per person.
