ORLEANS – An Orleans District Court jury has found a 51 year old man guilty of Indecent Assault and Battery on a person under the age of 14.
Stephen Newcomb was sentenced to two and a half years in prison, with 18 months to serve and the balance suspended over five years.
The charges stem from an incident that occurred between October 2012 and January 2013, where Newcomb sexually assaulted a seven year old victim who was known to him.
The victim disclosed the assault to a relative who reported it to the Dennis Police Department.
The case was investigated by Dennis Police and Children’s Cove.
Newcomb has also been ordered to stay away and have no contact with the victim and have no unsupervised contact with any child under 16.
