Pilgrim Monument and Museum to Host Women’s Week Events

PROVINCETOWN – Provincetown Women’s Week begins October 7 and the Pilgrim Monument and Provincetown Museum will host a series of events for the event.

The programs focus on the contributions women have made to the town.

Herstory Walking Tours will be held during the mornings of October 7 and 12 and will include stops to learn about Miriam MacMillan, the wife of arctic explorer and Provincetown native Donald MacMillan, sites of original women’s clubs and the AIDS crisis.

A Brown Bad Lunch Series will be held throughout the week at the Shallop Café. Several topics will be discussed including, preparing for the end of life and women in politics, with State Representative Sarah Peake.

A concert will also be held featuring Tret Fure. She will perform and share stories about being a lesbian musician.
