Rectrix to Operate Summer Service Between Cape Cod and New York City

HYANNIS-  Rectrix Aviation has announced the introduction of a new non- stop New York LaGuardia to Nantucket service with connecting service to Cape Cod.

Scheduled flights will begin May 31st with the Rectrix Shuttle departing from the Sheltair gate at the Marine Air Terminal at LaGuardia Airport and arrive at the Rectrix gate at Nantucket Memorial Airport.

“We looked at the demand and of course it’s there. So we opted to go to LaGuardia which as you know, is closer to Manhattan. So we would fly on Thursday, Friday, and Sunday between Nantucket and LaGuardia, and then of course we could connect right back to Hyannis,” said Richard Cawley, Rectrix CEO.

Flight time will last for approximately one hour.

Rectrix’s boarding process allows passengers to go directly from the check-in gate to the plane, bypassing terminals crowded with summer travelers.

Since demand for such services is so high here on the Cape, even after the summer is over, Cawley and his team are even “looking at a 30 seat passenger plane that would go from Hyannis to New York on a year round basis,” he said.

Ticket and schedule information is available via the Rectrix Shuttle website at flyrectrix.com.
