Researchers Tag 5th Shark of the Week off Cape Cod; Season Total at 19

ORLEANS –  A busy stretch for shark researchers continued Friday as the 5^th shark was tagged off Cape Cod since Monday.

That brings the season total to 19.

The latest was a 15-footer, just south of the Nauset Beach parking lot in Orleans.

The 18^th shark of the 2016 season was tagged Wednesday by state shark researcher, Dr. Greg Skomal, off the Nauset Inlet. Three were tagged on Monday, including a 15-footer off Truro.

The Atlantic White Shark Conservancy is in the third year of a five-year white shark population study.
