Sandwich COVID-19 Command Team Continues to Receive Updates

SANDWICH – The Town of Sandwich’s COVID-19 Command Team met recently to discuss updates regarding the novel coronavirus in the town.

Sandwich still does not have any reported cases of coronavirus.

As it stands, the town says the risk to residents of contracting the virus remains low.

However, the risk for influenza remains high. The town is reminding residents to wash their hands with soap and warm water for at least 20 seconds, cover their coughs and sneezes, and to stay at home if they feel sick.

A Virtual Emergency Operations Center will be operated by the town with the command team until further notice.

The command team is comprised of the town’s fire chief, police chief, emergency management director, town manager, assistant town manager, school Superintendent, director of health, and public health nurse.
