EASTHAM – Several areas in Eastham and Orleans have been closed to shellfishing.
According to Eastham officials, all of Nauset Estuary, Town Cove, and Salt Pond in Eastham and Orleans are closed to the taking of all species of shellfish until further notice. The closure is due to Diarrhetic Shellfish Poisoning.
On Cape Cod Bay, Rock Harbor, Boat Meadow, Bee’s River and Hatches Creek are also closed to shellfishing inland from lines drawn across the mouth of each water body.
