State Rep Hunt Collecting Holiday Cards for Troops

Randy HuntSANDWICH – State Representative Randy Hunt will be collecting Christmas and holiday cards with Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops for military personnel overseas.

Hunt’s office at 297 Quaker Meeting House Road in East Sandwich will act as a collection point.

Residents can drop off unsealed cards addressed to “American Service Member” in a 24-hour drop box through Friday, November 25. Cards can also be left during office hours from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. today, Monday and Tuesday.

“I believe it is important to express our gratitude for the sacrifices our armed forces make to protect our country and I am privileged to be able to help Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops with their annual Christmas and holiday card drive,” Hunt said. “We tend to forget that there are many military men and women continuing to serve in foreign countries and in dangerous situations.”

Cape Cod Cares for Our Troops will be packing boxes to be shipped on Saturday, November 26 at the Trowbridge Inn & Tavern in Bourne. Volunteers are still needed to help with the packing effort.

The organization is still collecting names of service member recipients by email at [email protected].
